Bhendi Bazaar building collapse: SBUT official held

A 56-year-old official of the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) was arrested today in connection with the Bhendi Bazaar building collapse tragedy in which 37 people lost their life last year.
Shoeb Hashim Wajuddin, HOD, Tenant Management of SBUT, was arrested by J J Marg Police, an official said.
Police had registered a case of negligence against the developer after the incident, he said.
The 117-year-old building located in the congested Bhendi Bazar area crumbled in September last following heavy rains.
