This will be the country's first star hotel on any railway land, built under a scheme where the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) allots land on a long-term lease to a private developer to make the railway station a 'multi-functional complex'.
After a bidding process, the Railways selected Ahmedabad-based Suba group to build the 24-room 'Click' hotel at Bhuj on a 45-year lease, the company's founder and chairman, Mansur Mehta told PTI.
He added that the hotel has got features like restaurant, banquet hall, swimming pool, gymnasium and Wi-Fi, among others.
The Bhuj property is constructed on a 15,000 sq feet of land parcel and will help Railways earn revenue from the vacant land.
Mehta said tourist flow to Bhuj and Junagadh is likely to go up after the announcement of a tourism policy by Gujarat and also due to proximity to Dholavira and Gir.
