Police today detained more than 150 workers of NCP from over half a dozen places here when they were staging "rasta roko" to protest the arrest of their leader Chhagan Bhujbal in a money laundering case.
The NCP workers blocked road traffic at different places in the metropolis as part of their "rasta roko" protest.
They were detained from Bhandup, Vikhroli, Deonar, Goregaon, Worli, Bandra, Kurar and Chembur areas, said police.
More than 150 NCP activists were detained and later released, they said.
Bhujbal, a former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, was arrested last night by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after 10 hours of questioning here in connection with its probe in a money laundering case registered against him and others.
NCP has alleged Bhujbal's arrest was an act of "political vendetta" by the ruling BJP, which has rejected the charge.
