Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay will embark on a three-day visit to Sri Lanka tomorrow during which he will meet the country's top leaders to strengthen bilateral ties.
Tobgay is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena.
He will be accompanied by the Education Minister, officiating Foreign Secretary and other senior government officials.
During the visit, Tobgay will meet the Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister and other senior government officials.
A MoU on Foreign Office Consultation will be signed between Bhutan and Sri Lanka during the visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said in a statement.
Bhutan will receive a Holy Bodhi tree sapling as a gift from Sri Lanka on the occasion of the 60th birth anniversary of King of Bhutan Druk Gyalpo.
The visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation between Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
Diplomatic relation between the two countries was established in 1987.
