Countering state government's claim of maintaining a complete transparency in 'girdwari' to assess the crop damage in the recent unseasonal rains, Hooda said, "senior officials (of the Khattar government) have told me that there are orders from the higher ups that girdwari should be kept minimum and less number of persons should be selected for relief."
"As there will be less number of persons, the amount of compensation which the government has to give will drastically come down," he said.
Hooda also took a dig at Haryana Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar for his remarks over compensation to the farmers in Sirsa a week back.
Khattar's ministers were passing such insensitive remarks at a time when farmers were committing suicide due to compensation over crop loss and outstanding arrears worth crores of rupees were still due to be paid to sugarcane farmers, Hooda said.

Dhankar at a programme in Sirsa said, "Kisano ko muawza dene ke baad mera mann naachne ko kar raha hai (After paying compensation to the farmers I feel like dancing)."
Hooda appealed to the farmers "to not take extreme steps", saying it is not the solution to the problem and the Congress party was firmly with them in their hour of crisis.
Hitting out at the Manohar Lal Khattar government, Hooda said it would not be an exaggeration if one describes the six-month-old regime as one based on "falsehood and one which uses jugglery of phrases and figures to tom-tom its achievements".
Hooda is set to begin a statewide 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' from Kandela village in Jind district from May 31 against the alleged anti-people policies of the government.
