Asserting that biggest challange for their mother and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is to take people along and bridge the gap in the state after coming together of north and south pole, her daughters Irtiqa and Sana expressed hope that their mother would be able to do justice to the people of the three regions of the state.
"The biggest challange is that she has to take people along and fill the gap as my grandfather used to say about meeting of north pole and south pole," said the younger daughter of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Sana.
"I hope she does justice with the people as I know that lot of people have high expectations. As a daughter, I hope that she does get time to sit with us," Sana said.
Terming Mehbooba becoming first women CM of J-K as a "historic moment", Sana told reporters, "we are seeing a woman coming to the forefront for the first time, we have a woman chief minister, and I think, that means a lot to me and to the women in the state."
My expectation as a citizen of the state is that she makes things better and fulfill the promises that she has made to the people," Sana said, adding that, Mehbooba Mufti's main priority will be Kashmir now.
"I think she can make a difference as she has been in this for two decades now. She has worked at the grass root level. There should be transparency in the government. The challenge right now is the state of affairs, proving things and the gap that she has to fulfill," she added.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti today took oath of office, succeeding her father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who died on January 7.
