Bihar cooperative minister's son comes out of coma

Bihar cooperative minister Jai Kumar Singh's son, who is recuperating at a private hospital here after an alleged suicide attempt, has come out of coma even as his condition remains serious.
The 14-year-old Adarsh Kumar, studying in the prestigious Scindia School in Gwalior had allegedly attempted suicide after a ragging incident at the school following which he was admitted in the Apollo Hospital in Delhi.
"He is admitted in the neuro ICU and has been taken off the ventilator. He has come out of coma. He is able to move his eyes and there is little hand movement. But he is not able to speak yet. He is responding to treatment," said a doctor.
Adarsh, a class IX student has suffered brain damage.
"We can't say how long it will take for him to recover," the doctor added.
He is being treated under the supervision of Dr M S Chaudhary, internal medicine physician.
According to the hospital authorities, police has been visiting the hospital to record Adarsh's statement but has not been able to do so because of his condition.
He is being provided appropriate medical care by a competent multidisciplinary team of senior consultant doctors.
