At a meeting of the Foundation here today, its Chairman and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Modi said "at present there are chapters of the Bihar Foundation in as many as 12 countries, including Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore".
"We must now have chapters in Mauritius, Fiji and Guyana where the size of the Bihari diaspora is huge. This will enable people with roots in the state .. to keep abreast with the activities back home", Modi was quoted as saying in a release.
He said such programmes should be held in all cities where chapters of the diaspora are functional like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Varanasi.
Stating that more than four lakh people are regularly perusing through social media the e-magazines and e-newsletters brought out by the Bihar Foundation, he stressed on the need for uploading videos and photographs which could apprise the non-resident Biharis about the work done by Bihar government.
