Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today said the state government would provide job to the wife of Station House Officer (SHO), who was allegedly killed by unidentified assailants in Bihar's Saran district.
Manjhi told reporters that according to information he received, the SHO was not killed while escorting employees of a petrol pump in depositing money in a bank but when he was frisking three motorcycle-borne youths.
The SHO Sanjay Kumar Tiwary (40) was yesterday shot dead at Shamkauria under Isuapur police station while on duty.
Manjhi said he has already announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the kin of the SHO.
Leader of Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav referred to the incident to substantiate the charge of deteriorating law and order in the state.
"The murder of an SHO in uniform by criminals in broad day light proves that law and order situation has dipped in Bihar," Yadav told reporters in his Assembly chamber.
