Replying to a question by BJP member Tara Kishore Prasad in the state Assembly, Kumar said Bihar government will compensate all such maize farmers who incurred losses owing to maize plants not yielding grains.
The state government has decided to give compensation to farmers in Seemanchal, Kosi and other districts after carrying out a proper inquiry, he said.
The minister said that the inquiry showed that farmers who sowed seeds in October, could get 50 per cent of grains in maize plant, while those who sowed in the first week of November, had 100 per cent grains.
