Bihar Legislative Council polls peaceful

Elections for eight reserved seats for graduates and teachers in the Bihar Legislative Council were conducted peacefully today.
Manual counting for all the seats would be conducted on March 26 and results will decide the fate of 41 candidates for the four graduate constituencies and 33 candidates for the four constituencies for teachers.
Altogether 3.96 lakh graduates and 47,173 teachers had the options to exercise their franchise to elect their representatives for the Bihar legislature.
Bihar Additional Chief Electoral Officer R Lakshmanan said that among the four graduate constituencies, Patna saw the lowest percentage of polling at 37.2 per cent, followed by Tirhut (41.75 per cent) while Darbhanga and Kosi seats witnessed 52 per cent each.
