A hardcore naxalite has been arresrted from Palamu district of Jharkhand during a raid carried out yesterday, Superintendent of Police said today.
Acting on a tip off, a police team comprising ASP (Operations) from Rohtas and Kaimur district was constituted which raided Tendui village under Pipra police station area in Palamu district of neighbouring Jharkhand yesterday and arrested Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) area commander Ajay Rajbhar alias Surendra Rai, Rohtas Superintendent of Police Satyaveer Singh said.
The SP said that Rajbhar, who was arrested in 2011 in Rohtas district, became a symbol of terror in Rohtas and Kaimur districts after being released on bail in 2014.
He was wanted in more than a dozen cases relating to naxalite incidents, the SP said adding that the members of the raid team will be rewarded for their work.
