Bihar's 'prohibition man' gets new post

Senior IAS officer K K Pathak, who was a key man in enforcing total prohibition in Bihar, has been made the additional member of the Revenue Board in the state.
Pathak had earlier gone on leave reportedly in protest against the arrest of an official for acting against a ruling JD(U) leader.
Pathak, who was kept in waiting, was among the 10 IAS officers given their posts today.
The 1990-batch officer will also hold additional post of additional commissioner of departmental inquiry, GAD, till further orders, a notification by the department said.
The nine other IAS officers, all from the 2014 batch, have been made deputy secretaries in various government departments after completion of their central deputation, the GAD notification said.
The post of the additional member of Revenue Board has been upgraded to that of a principal secretary till Pathak's posting, it said.

As principal secretary of the excise and prohibition department, he had expressed his displeasure over the arrest of his department's sub-inspector for taking action against Chandradeep Sen alias Moti Singh, the Harnaut block president of JD(U), from whose house liquor was seized on August 30 and had asked the state government to find his replacement.
As per the GAD notification, Udita Singh has been posted as deputy secretary in the energy department, while Amit Kumar Pandey has been posted as deputy secretary in panchayati raj department. Shashank Shubhankar will be deputy secretary in the health department and Roshan Kushwaha will occupy the same post in the education department.
Aditya Prakash will be deputy secretary in tourism department and Abhilasha Kumari in planning and development department.
Yashpal Meena, Shyam Bihari Meena and Saurabh Jorwal have been made deputy secretaries in rural works, rural development and labour resources departments respectively, the GAD notification said.
