Bihar stops payment of IT firms

The two IT firms were found to be deficient in providing computer training programmes at about 1000 secondary and higher secondary schools and so their payments have been stopped, he said in the legislative assembly in reply to a starred question by BJP MLA Arun Shankar Prasad.

The state-owned undertaking Beltron had awarded the contract to NIIT and Educomp to provide computer education and training programme at 600 and 400 secondary and higher secondary schools respectively and arrangement for generator sets for carrying out the project but their services were found to be 'wanting', he said.

Taking a serious view of the matter, Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary asked the Education Minister to ensure no payments were made to the two IT firms.
