Addressing a function after inaugurating a three-day youth festival here, Malik said the youth of Bihar have always made history.
"People from various parts of the country and the world come to places like Bodh Gaya, Vaishali and Patna Sahib to acquire knowledge of religious traditions like Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. The youth of the state must aspire to do justice to the legacy they inherit," he said.
Speaking at the same function, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi Bihar was like a microcosm of India.
Sushil Modi also said that the proposed university at Purnea will start functioning from the next academic session.
The state government was planning to set up a Mithila Painting Institute at Madhubani, he added.
