With the bill coming into force, majority apartment owners would be empowered to execute a declaration required for maintainance of their residential or commercial premises, state Housing Minister Aroop Biswas told the House speaking about the bill.
Earlier, all apartment owners were required to submit a declaration for such purposes.
There was a real difficulty earlier in submitting a declaration, as stipulated under section 2 of the said Act, executed by all the owners of a building, the minister said.
Simultaneously, The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2015 was also passed in the state Assembly today to empower the state government in extending the period of supersession of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education for a further period of one year upto July 20, 2016, state's School Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said speaking about the bill.
The bill sought to replace an Ordinance promulgated earlier by the state government by an Act of the State Legislature, the minister said.
