With the government short on numbers in Rajya Sabha, it has decided to seek passage of these measures issued recently in the lower House.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said here today that the government has listed two Bills to replace Ordinances to amend the Citizenship Act and Mines Act for consideration and passage in Lok Sabha tomorrow, when Bills to replace two other executive orders -- on coal blocks and e-rickshaws -- will also be introduced in the lower House.
The Bill to replace the amendment to the Land Acquisition Act has already been introduced in the lower House. Since the Bill is being objected to by the opposition and farmers' groups, it will be listed for consideration and passage in the week beginning March 9, government sources indicated.
Naidu said that the Business Advisory Committees of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have discussed the legislative business proposed by the government for the second week of the Budget session and alloted time for the different Bills.
