Already Chief Executive Bimal Gurung has asked GTA employees to be punctual in attending office, Krishan Gurung, a member of the GJM affiliated Ashayi Karmachari Sangathan (AKS) said.
The AKS has alleged that many GTA employees working since the time of Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council are receiving salaries although they do not go to their offices regularly, and some have hired proxy employees in their place.
The Chief Executive has asked the department heads to strictly check attendance of the employees, AKS sources said.
The GTA has 45 departments and around 6321 employees.
