The MSRTC has been piloting two Indizel-run buses on the Kurla-Ahmednagar sector since Monday, My Eco Energy co- founder Santosh Verma said, adding they will have the commercial launch next month.
Indizel is made out of the basic palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD), which is waste of palm seeds and conforms to petroleum diesel (HSD) EN590 and BIS 1460 specifications for use with existing engines.
On his retail expansion plans, Verma said the company will be commissioning 14 outlets through next month. The company has already set up 12 outlets and is also planning to sell the fuel through kirana stores in cans as the product does not need licence as it is not a petroleum product.
Of the 12 new outlets planned two each will come up at Panvel, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Vizag by mid- November.
