Delhi Government is mulling to put in place an Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system in its hospitals, following complaints that doctors and medical staff were not reporting for duty on time.
"In a bid to ensure punctuality of the doctors and staff at hospitals, we are mulling to put into place an Aadhaar- enabled biometric attendance system in government hospitals.
"Of late, we have received complaints of doctors, nurses and other paramedic staff not reporting for duty on time. This will make the staff accountable and even contractual employees including security guards will have to log on to this system," said a senior Delhi Government official.
Taking a serious view of the matter, Delhi's Health Department has also issued a circular to all the medical superintendents and directors of hospitals to strictly enforce punctuality of all the staff in the hospital.
"It has come to the notice of Health Minister that some doctors and staff are reporting late in OPDs and patient service areas in hospitals.
"All Medical Superintendents/Directors/Head of Medical Institutions of all Delhi government hospitals, dispensaries and autonomous organisations under Health Department are hereby requested to strictly enforce punctuality of all staff in the hospital," said the circular.
