Birender hits out at Hooda over govt sops

Rajya Sabha MP Birendra Singh, who recently joined BJP after snapping ties with Congress, today hit out at Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda over the sops announced by him during a rally in Panipat saying it was attempt to bribe voters in poll-bound Haryana.
"The announcements made by the CM during his Panipat rally seems to be an attempt to bribe the voters. The Election Commission must enforce Model Code of Conduct soon so that such announcements do not mislead the voters," Singh told reporters during a press conference.
Hooda yesterday announced sops for various sections of the people including farmers.

The Rajya Sabha MP, who joined BJP after ending his over four-decade association with Congress, said Haryana's worst days would soon get over as BJP would win the upcoming Assembly elections in the state by a majority.
"I can say one thing about Haryana for sure that its worst days have gone. The way people in the state are joining BJP it shows the party will win with full majority in the forthcoming state elections," he said.
Hitting out at Congress, Singh said the party will suffer a humiliating defeat like it did in Tamil Nadu in 1967 after which it failed to ever come to power in that state.

"At the Kaithal rally people did not even allow CM Hooda to speak. Though it was wrong, the CM must realize why it happened with him," Singh said.
Hooda had faced hooting from a section of the crowd at the function attended by the Prime Minister in Kaithal after laying the foundation stone of a highway project on August 19.
