The company had reported a net profit of Rs 72.63 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total income increased 17 per cent to Rs 793.5 crore during the quarter under review compared to Rs 678 crore in the corresponding period.
Profitability of the company during the quarter was affected substantially because of the subdued prices in the cement market, especially in the eastern and northern regions, the company said in statement.
