Birth anniversary of Beant Singh observed

Family members and political leaders today observed 92nd birth anniversary of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh by paying glowing tributes to his memory and recalling his contributions to bringing stability in the state in troubled times.
A prayer session was held at the 'Samadhi' of the leader here which was attended by his family members including his son and former minister Tej Parkash Singh, daughter Gurkanwal Kaur, grandsons Gurkirat Singh and Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Beant Singh, who became Chief Minister in 1992 and began crushing the Sikh militancy, was killed in the blast in 1995 claimed by the Khalistan terrorists.
