Bison killed in panther attack

A bison was killed by a panther in the Burgur forest area in the district while it was drinking water from a river, forest officials said.
They said some villagers saw some bisons drinking water at Palaru river when they took their cattle yesterday to Siluvaikkalmedu forest area for tending. A panther suddenly pounced on one of the bisons and killed it and left the place.
On receiving information, forest officials rushed to the spot and took possession of the carcass. The carcass of the was buried at the same spot.
