The maximum temperature was recorded at 17.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal, said a MeT department official.
Following an overcast morning, the sun came out of the hiding around 10 AM. Moderate to dense fog during the early morning hours disrupted rail services leading to cancellation of 40 trains and delayed 18 others. However, flight operations remained normal.
Visibility fell from 1,000 metres at 5.30 AM to 700 metres at 8.30 AM. It then improved to 1,500 meters at 11.30 AM.
The MeT office has predicted mainly clear skies tomorrow.
"The skies will be mainly clear. Shallow to moderate fog would occur at most places during the morning and forenoon. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 19 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively, tomorrow," the official said.
Delhi experienced the coldest day of the season yesterday with the day temperature plunging to 15.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature settled at 8.9 degrees Celsius.
