Hitting out at Haryana government for setting up a separate Gurdwara Management Committee, All India Anti Terrorist Front chief Maninderjit Singh Bitta today said it amounted to "interference" in religious affairs of Sikhs.
He described the action of Hooda government as "nefarious design" at the "instance of senior Congress leaders."
Without naming these "senior Congress leaders", he alleged that they were "playing divide and rule policy" for "vested political interests."
"Whenever some Congressmen interfered into religious affairs of Sikhs, its results were unfortunate," he alleged.
He claimed that Bluestar Operation and 1984 anti-Sikh riots were the result of "direct interference" in the religious affairs of Sikhs.
Alleging that "political terrorism" is active in the country, he said he would not allow it to raise its head.
Haryana and Punjab are at loggerheads over the issue of a separate SGPC by the former after the passing of a new law by the state Assembly which was accorded assent by former Governor Jagannath Pahadia.
