"I will soon file a petition in the Supreme Court seeking probe by an independent body into the role of intelligence agencies and its officers on the issue of security cover to me and Rajiv Gandhi," said Bitta, who is upset over the apex court's verdict on commuting death sentence of Khalistani terrorist Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.
"Both Rajiv and I are victims of political terrorism," he said.
The security cover to both Rajiv and me (Bitta) was cut down days ahead of murderous attack on both of us, he alleged.
What were intelligence agencies and its officers doing despite being aware of the fact that Rajiv and me faced threats from terrorists, he asked.

Without making any comment on Supreme Court verdict on Bhullar, he claimed that "Bhullar's mental health is stable ...I am prepared to get him medically checked abroad at my cost to have a correct opinion on his medical condition."
Bitta, who is All-India-Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) chief, was targeted of the 1993 bomb blast for which Bhullar was handed death sentence. However, recently the Apex court commuted Bhullar's death penalty to life sentence.
