The leaders did not accept Panda's op-ed page write up in an Odia daily yesterday where the Kendrapara MP suggested BJD President and chief minister to "introspect" on the present situation in the party after the recent three-tier panchayat elections.
BJD vice-president and Minister Damodar Rout said, "He (Panda) might have good intentions. But he should not give statements on the party in public and instead meet the Chief Minister and discuss issues he wants to. He is an experienced and 4-time MP. His views should not be treated casually. His comments/statements could be for the benefit of the party."
Disapproving Panda's statements in the twitter and newspaper article, BJD spokespersons Samir Ranjan Dash and Amar Satpathy said the Kendrapara MP should have gone to the party chief to convey his views.
"The whole episode of what is happening in public has drawn chief minister's attention. He will take appropriate decision at the right time," they said.

Cuttack (Barabati) MLA Debasis Samantray criticised views expressed through twitter. "MPs have little knowledge about what is happening in the grassroots-level. But, MLAs work hard at this level. The current indiscipline arising out of their comments on social media would not affect the party in any way. Party supremo is all aware about it," Samantray said.
BJP MLA Pradip Purohit, however, welcomed Panda over his statements in the twitter and newspaper article. "I thank Panda for showing courage to voice his feelings. He (Panda) has said the feelings of many others who are unable to speak," Purohit.
Asked whether Panda would join the BJP, Purohit said: "I have no such knowledge. Our party's senior leaders in Delhi may be knowing about this (possibility of Panda joing BJP)."
Meanwhile, former BJD Rajya Sabha MP Baishnab Parida came to the rescue of Panda and said that the Kendrapara MP might have gone to social media and newspaper for not being able to get an opportunity to speak in the party forum.
