"BJP has lost people's trust. They are trying to come to power by goondagiri. They want to fight the next election (in Assam) on the basis of goondaraj. We have to stop them and we will not allow them," Gogoi told a press conference here.
"BJP is a party of killers. They are not in power and this is their goondagiri now. What will happen if they come to power?," he said.
Gogoi said the "attack" on the Congress office by BJP was a "pre-planned" one and claimed that the government had reports of two BJP leaders, including Himanta Biswa Sarma instigating party workers.
"It was a brutal attack. Such an incident has never happened in the history of Assam politics. They (BJP) workers came with sticks and blades which were hidden in the sticks of the placards.

Tear gas shells were burst by police yesterday when BJP supporters protested in front of the Congress office and attacked the ruling party workers, who too retaliated leading to injuries on both sides.
BJP workers were protesting against Congress leader Nilamani Sendeka's comment at a public meeting on Sunday at Nalbari against Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress party had also distanced itself from Sendeka's comment and condemned it.
