BJP accuses Arunachal govt of violating NEC guidelines
Press Trust of India Itanagar BJP in Arunachal Pradesh today accused the state government of violating NEC guidelines by not prioritising important schemes, using the requirement of the '90:10 ratio matching share' as the pretext, even though the NEC guidelines envisage that the state government shall bear its matching share of any NEC scheme proposed by the government's planning department.
Party spokesman Techi Necha in a communique alleged that no concept papers for NEC schemes have been prepared by the nodal department.
"Owing to this, the people are deprived of sustainable economic gains from NEC schemes and only the elected representatives of the state are benefiting from the schemes by fraudulently siphoning off development funds," he said.
The party has demanded that separate budgetary provision be created to meet the matching share for centrally sponsored schemes, "so that the poor and the downtrodden can avail of the NEC schemes in the state".
