Alleging 'total collapse' of law and order and administrative machinery in Odisha under BJD rule, BJP today said it would launch a state-wide campaign to make people aware of the failures of Naveen Patnaik government on all fronts.
"Criminals are having a field day in the state due to complete collapse of law and order. The BJD government has failed miserably to control crimes due to its inefficiency," Odisha BJP spokesman Suresh Pujary told reporters after a meeting of the state executive.
Describing the recent incident of setting on fire of a dalit minor girl in Kendrapara district as an example of lawlessness, Pujary said incidents of murders, rapes, robberies, loot and other crimes are soaring as the state government was insensitive and inefficient to handle the situation.
Terming the recent killing of five members of a family in Bolangir district as barbaric, he said Odisha appears to have become the most unsafe state in the country.
Slamming the government for dismal show in healthcare sector, he said the death of nine newborn babies during a span of 22 hours at VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla was a reflection of the sad state of affairs.
Alleging a series of scams in the state, Pujary said the BJD government failed to take proper action with regard to mining scandal, chitfund scam and other irregularities.
In order to make people aware of the failures of the government, BJP would undertake a massive campaign across the state during the next three months for which a blueprint is being prepared, he added.
