BJP today demanded removal of Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed accusing the administration in the state under President's rule of failing to rein in left-wing extremism and dealing with other law and order matters.
"We are deeply shocked and grieved at the death of police personnel in the Maoist attack in Dumka. A district police captain falling to bullets shows the total failure of the state administration under President's rule," BJP's state unit President Ravindra Rai told reporters here.
"Murders have been on the rise in Jharkhand, including in the state capital, so also rape and sexual assault incidents in a state under President's rule," he charged.
"Now Congress is moving closer to form a government with JMM with a goal to conduct Lok Sabha elections under its rule. We demand immediate dissolution of the House," he added.
Pakur SP Amarjit Balihar and five others were killed in a Maoist ambush in Dumka district during the day.
