BJP calls for immediate Session of UP Assembly

Bhartiya Janata Party today demanded an immediate Session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly to discuss "deteriorating law and order situation and power crisis" in the state.
BJP leader Satish Mahana appealed Governor B L Joshi to call the Session to discuss current situation in the state.
In a statement issued here, Deputy Leader of BJP Legislative Party Satish Mahana alleged that the government was not paying attention towards deteriorating law and order situation, power crisis, stalled development works and other problems.
In such a circumstances, the party appeals the Governor to immediately convene the Vidhan Sabha Session so that a detailed discussion could be held on the current situation in the state, he said.
Mahana said that after coming to power the Chief Minister had assured to call a Session after every two months so that problems in the state could be discussed.
He alleged that had it not been a constitutional binding to call the Session in six months, the government might have not taken any interest in convening the House.
