West Bengal State Election Commissioner A K Singh today described the allegations that he had received threats from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) as 'completely baseless'.
"Yesterday a political party claimed that I have received death threats from the ruling TMC. I want to say it clearly that I have never ever received any such threat from any political party. The allegations are completely baseless," Singh told reporters here.
His comments came a day after BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha alleged that Singh has been receiving threats from the TMC over conduct of panchayat polls, and his mobile phone was being tapped and land line calls were recorded.
The SEC said, "This is just an allegation. Some people don't have control over their tongues. I have not decided on whether to take action against it or not."
