BJP, Cong declare their candidates for MP Assembly polls

With barely two days left for filing nominations, the BJP has so far declared candidates for 211 seats out of a total 230 seats for the November 25 assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress has so far declared a list of 197 candidates.
While the BJP has came out with its first list of 147 candidates on October 31, the Congress too announced its candidates for 115 seats on November 1, sources said.
The Congress released its second list containing names of 82 candidates last night, while the BJP declared its second list of 64 candidates today morning, sources said.
Both the parties face dissidence in different seats including Indore, Bhopal, Betul, Khandwa and Hoshangabad, among others, sources said.
Prominent among those who have filed their nominations so far include Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Budhni, Leader of the Congress Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh from Churhat and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh's son Jaivardhan Singh from Raghogarh.
MP Urban Development Minister Babulal Gaur from Govindpura in Bhopal district, MP Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta from Bhopal South-West, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Gopal Bhargava from Rehli and BJP MP from Gwalior Yashodhara Raje Scindia from Shivpuri, are the other prominent politicians to file nominations, they said.
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Office sources said that a total of 414 nominations have been filed so far for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.
