Singh suggested that Muslims were rallied against BJP and claimed the saffron party was defeated in a similar way as "Abhimanyu was killed in a chakravyuh" by enemies, quoting Hindu epic Mahabharat.
"We have not lost this election. Our vote share is more or less intact. Like Abhimanyu was killed through deceit by enemies, BJP has been defeated by polarisation of pseudo- secular forces. Members of a particular community were polarised before elections," he said.
When pointed out that over 54 per cent of votes were polled by AAP, Singh declined to comment.
The party had garnered more than 46 per cent votes in Lok Sabha elections in May 2014 when it won all seven constituencies.
The Minister of State for Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, who comes from Bihar and is known for his controversial statements, had campaigned for the party in Delhi.
