"We request you for 160 companies of Central forces as each booth premises, including the 200 mt periphery has to be manned by CAPF, and voters should be allowed in the booths only after proper checking of I-cards," party's National Secretary Siddharth Nath Singh said in a letter to West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Gupta.
He said it was earlier discussed that at least 160 companies of CAPF was to be deployed, 140 in Bongaon and 20 in Krishnagunj.
"We request you to bring all the forces immediately to the poll-bound areas and start route march as a confidence building measure," he said.
Stating that both constituencies share international border with the Bangladesh, the BJP leader demanded that the border needs to be sealed at least 72 hours prior to the elections.
Apart from these measures, Singh added that CCTVs should be installed in all booths in both the constituencies.
