"Virbhadra Singh, who used all the legal options to delay the filing of the charge-sheet must resign on moral grounds immediately," Suresh Bharadwaj, senior BJP leader and chief whip of the party told media persons here today.
He said that Virbhadra had faced similar situation in June 2012, when he resigned as Union Minister following framing of charges against him by a Shimla Court and the wheel has taken full turn after five years and he should resign immediately, as he did in 2012.
The BJP leader said Singh's countdown would begin from Bhoranj assembly by-elections, setting the trend for massive defeat of Congress in assembly elections to be held later this year.
He ridiculed the statement of the HP CM that it was a case of political vendetta.
A special court in Delhi today fixed April 3 for consideration of charge sheet filed by the CBI against Virbhadra, his wife and others for allegedly amassing assets worth around Rs 10 crore disproportionate to their known sources of income.
