President of the BJP's West Bengal unit Rahul Sinha said that the party was 'determined' to hold the rally in front of the Victoria House at Esplanade even if the required permission was not granted after complying with the directive of the Calcutta High Court.
The High Court, which was moved by the saffron party after the city police had refused permission for the rally citing possible traffic dislocation, today directed that the party must apply for permission of the two utilities before seeking the nod of the police.
He warned that in the event of anything going wrong, the police had to take the blame and face the consequence.
Sinha welcomed today's high court directive, saying, "It will help restore democracy despite attempt by the ruling party to kill it."

"It is a conspiracy by the ruling TMC ......KMC even removed our hoardings from different places in the city. But they will not be able to prevent us from holding the rally," Sinha said.
Sinha said, "The Court has directed the Fire Service Department and KMC to inform us by November 27 whether permission was granted or not with proper reasons. The police was also directed to act on the application in accordance with law.
