Accusing BJP of doing a "turnaround", I & B Minister Manish Tewari today said the opposition party had made no mention abrogating Article 370 in its vision document released in the run up to 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
"(20)04 vision document of BJP no mention of abrogation of Article 370 In fact, it recognises its existence. (2)013 they want to debate Double Speak!," Tewari said in a post on the social networking site Twitter.
"Is the turnaround on 370 final nail in the legacy of Vajpayee ji & Advaniji ? Venkaiahji (who) signed the vision document should explain U-turn!," he added in his tweet.
Tewari's tweets come in the context of comments made by BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who had told a a rally in Jammu that there should be at least a debate on whether or not it has benefited the state.
Modi's remarks were widely seen as softening of BJP's stand on scrapping Article 370.
Earlier, Tewari has accused BJP of double-speak over Article 370. He had said "10 years ago, five years ago, one year ago you would hear BJP talking about abrogating Article 370. Now they are talking about debate on Article 370.
