BJP doubles its vote share in Har

The BJP doubled its vote share in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Haryana as compared to its performance five years back.
The BJP, which won seven of the 10 Lok Sabha seats, managed to get a vote share of 34.7 per cent as compared to 17.21 per cent in 2009 when it failed to win any seat.
The Congress ruling the state lost eight of the nine seats it had won in 2009 and saw its vote share declining to 22.9 per cent as compared to 41.77 per cent five years back.
The INLD, which won two seats this time, increased its vote share to 24.4 per cent from 15.78 per cent in 2009 when it lost all the five seats it contested.
The AAP, which unsuccessfully contested all the 10 seats for the first time, got a vote share of 4.2 per cent.
The BSP which failed to win any seat also saw a decline in its vote share to 4.6 per cent from 4.98 per cent in 2009.
The HJC-BL, which failed to retain its lone seat won in 2009 elections, saw its popularity declining by about 40 per cent. The Kuldeep Bishnoi led party got a vote share of 6.1 per cent as compared to 10.01 per cent five years back.
Independents and other parties got a vote share of 2.7 per cent while NOTA option failed to get much acceptance with the voters as only 0.3 per cent of the electorate used the exercise.
