BJP's Gujarat state parliamentary board today finalised the panel of names of candidates for all 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state during the third and final meeting at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's residence.
Besides Modi, the meeting was attended by Gujarat BJP in-charge Om Mathur, Gujarat BJP president R C Faldu and several other local leaders. Today, the committee discussed names for eight Lok Sabha seats in Saurashtra and Kutch regions.
To decide their panel of final candidates, similar meetings were held on March 9 and March 11 for South, Central and North Gujarat regions. Today they discussed the remaining seats in Saurashtra.
Though the committee has completed its work, it is unlikely that names for Gujarat would be discussed during the meeting of the BJP central parlimentary board in New Delhi tomorrow.
"The central committee is holding a meeting tomorrow, but it is meant to finalise names for other states, and not Gujarat. The final panel for Gujarat candidates will be sent to BJP central parliamentary committee at least after a week," Gujarat BJP media convener Harshad Patel said.
