Thackeray has been habitually and brazenly targeting north Indian people, including those from Bihar, settled in Mumbai and elsewhere in Maharashtra, state BJP chief C P Thakur told reporters.

Stating that the MNS chief's conduct and hate speech was a violation of the provisions of the Constitution that allowed a citizen to live and work in any part of the country, he demanded that the Centre and the Maharashtra government should take strong action against him.

Thakur said the BJP disapproved of Thackeray's behaviour and wanted that he should be punished under the law.
