BJP for "speedy and credible" inquiry into Kishtwar violence

Condemning the state and central government for their "failure" to control the violence in Kishtwar, BJP today demanded a "legitimate, speedy and credible" inquiry into the issue.
"BJP condemns the approach of Jammu and Kashmir government as well as the Centre. The state government was totally inactive and allowed the separatists to run riot. Our charge is that this violence is a part of a larger Pakistani design," party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
He pointed out that there has been relentless shelling from Pakistani forces and in the midst of this separatists have incited violence in Kishtwar.
The main opposition insisted this is not a Hindu-Muslim clash but was a planned attack.

"We demand a legitimate, speedy and credible inquiry into the issue," Javadekar said.
BJP maintained that separatist elements were involved in the violence and they displayed pictures of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt.

"This whole incident should be seen as another mischief on the part of Pakistan. Incursions have doubled this year from across the border. The violence in Kishtwar was not a riot but a one-sided attack. Chidambaram's statement is an attempt to cover-up the issue," Javadekar said.
Expressing resentment at Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley not being allowed to go to Kishtwar yesterday, BJP said this was an "externment" and sought to know from the government how it could do so as it is in "violation of the law".

"Strong action should be taken against those responsible for the violence in Kishtwar," Javadekar said.
