"We have decided to start the poll preparations with immediate effect so that the ground is prepared on time for achieving the Mission 44+ seat in Assembly polls," BJP state President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma said here today.
BJP has 11 seats in the present state Assembly, which has a total strength of 87.
BJP won three out of six Lok Sabha seats of Jammu, Udhampur and Ladakh and take lead in 29 Assembly segments in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections.
He added that the establishment of BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir has become all the more imperative considering the nature of divisive politics that Kashmir-based and Kashmir-centric parties have indulged in after 66 years of independence.

BJP state Chief said the formation of BJP government will not only help eradicate fissiparous tendencies in the state but would also lead to the state's all round development with the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Khajuria said the party has to further mobilise public opinion in its favour so that we not only replicate the April-May 2014 performance in Jammu and Ladakh but also win at least half a dozen seats in the valley.
