Against the backdrop of Yeddyurappa daring the ruling BJP leadership, including state unit President K S Eswarappa, to crack the whip against his supporters, Pradhan is likely to talk to leaders not to precipitate the crisis further.
According to party sources, Pradhan would hold consultations with state unit office bearers on ways to counter Yeddyurappa's threats and the fall out arising out of the Lingayat strongman floating a new party.
The party is facing a critical phase with Yeddyurappa going ahead with the launch of his new party in December and some of its ministers and MLAs pledging support to him.
Yeddyurappa has already stated that he has the support of more than a dozen MPs out of the 19 the BJP has in Karnataka, and at least 70 legislators.
Pradhan will be meeting state office bearers, ministers and MPs, sources said.
He will also discuss strategy to ensure that the coming winter session of the state legislature beginning from December 5 at Belgaum passes off trouble-free, as the opposition Congress had already announced plans to move a no-confidence motion against the Jagadish Shettar government.
