Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hit out at the Manohar Lal Khattar regime alleging the government had hatched a "conspiracy" to slap false cases against him and other Congress leaders to cover up its failures and out of "political vendetta".
The Congress leader, said this while addressing a press conference here this evening, after the BJP government decided to hand over the probe into alleged irregularities by the Hooda regime in allotment of industrial plots in Panchkula by the CBI and filing of an FIR in the case.
Hooda said the BJP government should have waited for the court's decision on Panchkula industrial plot allotment case, also alleged Raxil pesticide and Manesar land acquisition cases which were pending before the Courts.
"Raxil issue and also Panchkula plot issue are pending before the High Court, they could have waited for the court's decision, Manesar issue is pending before Supreme Court.
All three cases are pending before the courts, but they (government) are not prepared to wait for the outcome of these cases, and handed over two cases to CBI while I have learnt through media that they are preparing to hand over Panchkula industrial plot allotment issue also to the agency," he said.
He alleged that the haste (in handing over the probe to CBI and registering FIR) by the Khattar government in these cases shows at that they don't have faith in judiciary, nor in the people and "they are acting out of political vendetta."
"They have hatched a conspiracy to cover up their own failures. They are doing it to divert people's attention as their is growing public anger against this non-performing government, which has also been hit by paddy and girdwari (revenue survey of crop) scams," he said.

"Be it BJP governments in Haryana or at the Centre, they seem to be working with sole agenda to slap false cases and put Congress leaders behind bars. They are working out of political vendetta," the former Haryana CM alleged.
Hooda claimed Khattar government has become "unpopular" in just one year.
Hooda said after the incident Haryana Congress MLAs have
decided to boycott all functions of Khattar government till the time they express regret for "insulting an MP, which was not just an insult to him, but an insult to people of Haryana who elected him".
Hooda, while training his guns at the state government, said, during his ten years rule, he never took any action out of vendetta.
Replying to another question, Hooda claimed BJP government was power drunk while on the people's support was with Congress.
He expressed "full faith in country's constitution and judiciary" and said he would fight these cases and come out clean. "I will fight the legal battle in courts and take political battle to streets."
He said, by raking up these cases, the government cannot suppress his voice. "I want to tell them that I belong to the family of freedom fighters, they cannot keep me from raising my voice. I will raise people's issues even more forcefully. These are just three cases, let them slap several cases, I don't care."
Asked about the state government may order CBI probe into Panchkula industrial plot allotment case, Hooda said, "my government and I did no wrong. We did everything on merit. They are raking it up only to divert people's attention."
On December 19, an FIR was lodged by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau against the then Chairman and Chief Administrator of HUDA, a post held by Hooda, and some others, for alleged irregularities in allotment of industrial plots in Panchkula three years ago when the then Chief Minister was at the body's helm.
About the registration of an FIR, he stated, "I have only come to know through newspapers, so far I have not heard anything from the government's side."
On AJL case, Hooda said, "we have not done anything wrong. Let them hold probe. This plot was restored like many others. I have not done anything which was illegal. Whatever we have done was within the law and norms."
Yesterday, Khattar had said an inquiry was underway in the case pertaining to alleged flouting of norms by the previous Congress regime to clear over 3,000 sqm land in Panchkula to Associated Journals Limited (AJL) over 10 years ago.
