Opposition National Conference today accused the ruling coalition partner BJP of betraying the massive mandate given by the people in both parliamentary and the assembly elections.
"Growing public disenchantment is a reflection of dismal performance of the coalition government on all the fronts" NC Provincial President Devender Singh Rana.
Rana speaking at a party function in the Kathua district said, "The BJP exploited public sentiment, not only by whipping up passions on religion and region but also by making hollow promises about development".
He said the 'hypocrisy and double standard of BJP' got exposed the day it joined hands with PDP, which it fought bitterly on every platform and in every state.
"A party which cannot stick to its word, cannot be sincere in its commitments as well", he said.
Rana further said that both the coalition partners created fear psychosis among the people against each other and indulged in worse type of political opportunism by joining hands.
"While the BJP summed up PDP as anti-Jammu outfit, the PDP raised hue and cry in Kashmir by portraying the BJP communal, fascists and anti-Kashmiris", he said.
He also said that the contradictions between the two coalition partners have accumulated more after forming the government, as a result of which development has been pushed to backburner, welfare schemes almost abandoned and the utility services left unattended.
