"Congress shrouded with series of corruption cases is cleverly trying to paint BJP in the same colour which will be countered strongly by the party," Modi said in a statement here, asking party workers not to fall prey to the 'misinformation campaign' by the Congress against Gadkari.
The senior BJP leader of Bihar said noted chartered accountant S Gurumurthy after comprehensive inspection of papers related to allegations of corruption, has categorically stated that Gadkari has not entered into any illegal or moral act.
Gurumurthy has found that Gadkari has no direct or indirect relations with the 18 companies in which the Purthy group has invested, Modi said.
Moreover, Gadkari himself has offered for an impartial investigation into the charges against him, he said.
