Maharashtra NCP leader Dhananjay Munde on Saturday launched a veiled attack on the ruling BJP, saying it has turned his home district, Beed, into "mini Bihar" and called for dislodging the "wily clique" from power.
"Unemployment, female foeticide, malnutrition and increased criminal activities...Our Beed district's identity has been changed to mini Bihar," the Leader of the Opposition in the state Legislative Council tweeted.
"The wily cabal, which shrouds the burning reality of the society faking development, must be thrown out of power," said Munde.
Munde, the estranged cousin of BJP minister Pankaja Munde, also shared a video clip alleging that some farmers in Beed have committed suicide and that some girls from the district taking the extreme step due to eve-teasing under the BJP's watch.
He also alleged through the clip that corruption was rampant in Beed and that the state's home department, headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has been proved "ineffective" in the district.
